First, some background on the series it comes from:
Just Dance is a game series by Ubisoft. All the game’s objectives are simple- dance along to the character on screen, scoring points based of how well you followed the movements. This simplicity is what’s allowed Just Dance to be such a successful series, offering a user friendly experiance, while being very fun!
A little-known fact about the origins of Just Dance is that it was originally based off a minigame from one of Ubisoft’s other franchises, Raving Rabbids. This minigame had players moving their Wii remotes to basic gestures, coached by an stick figure. It looks pretty different from the Just Dance games, but the similarities are absolutely there. (here is an example of the gameplay)
Just Dance (1) was an experimental game with crude graphics and an uncertain future. But the series has come a long way, and now there are 16 main series games and 18 spin-off games, with a new main series game still coming out every year.
And one of those spin-off games… is The Smurfs Dance Party. Released in North America on July 19, 2011, in promotion of The Smurfs movie, released July 29, 2011.
Just Dance’s dancers are real people, edited to make their skin bright white and the colors pop. The Smurfs Dance Party has creepy 3D models of Smurfs.

Also one human man. Dancing as the villain, Gargamel.

This is my favorite video game of all time.
